Individual Tutoring/Coaching
As an experienced educator with a background in special education and a passion for providing individualized instruction, I am excited to offer my personalized approach to students who need support in a variety of areas. My extensive experience working with students with diverse learning needs has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide tailored instruction that helps students reach their full potential. Services offered include
Self-advocacy support:
Teach students with learning disabilities how to communicate their needs effectively, build their confidence, and navigate their educational environment with success.
Executive Functioning support:
Work with students to develop their time management, organization, and planning skills, so they can better manage their workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Homework/Long-Term Project planning assistance:
Help students break down assignments into manageable steps, develop a personalized plan of action, and stay on track with their progress.
Digital File organization systems/support:
Teach students how to use digital tools such as Google Drive to organize and manage their files.
Assistive Technology (AT) analysis, training, and support:
Assess the student's needs, identify the best assistive technology options, and provide training and ongoing support to ensure the student can use it effectively.
Document services:
Create customized data collection systems, transcribe/type notes, and provide other document-related services. This service can include re-creating forms digitally to make them more accessible through an online tool or PDF that can be read using Assistive Technology.
Wilson Language Just Words tutoring (certified instructor):
Just Words is described by Wilson as a “Tier 2, accelerated word study program for struggling readers” that provides “highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program is for students in grades 4–12 and adults who have mild to moderate gaps in their decoding and spelling proficiency but do not require intensive intervention.” This is different from the Wilson Reading System that provides a more intensive Tier 3 intervention. Just Words is meant to address gaps through accelerated word study for struggling readers.
Wilson tutoring will require additional materials that can be purchased by the client for home use.
All services are provided virtually, which makes it easy for students to access high-quality support from the comfort of their own home. In addition to supporting K-12 students, I also provide personalized academic and professional development assistance for adult learners.
